Jimmy Badavino was born in Troy, N.Y. He attended Green Mountain College in Vermont, and is married with three children. After The Fall of South Bridge was released in 2009, Jimmy began working on a second novel and multiple screenplays, including Making Soda Bread/The Legend of Ace Keating (2015), Theory of Technolution (2017), and Twenty Feet In (2019). In 2014, he released a Fifth Anniversary Edition of The Fall of South Bridge. He and his wife, Illustrator/Designer Christie Colangione-B, have also released many Children's books from their studio, Badavino Creative Studios, in Upstate NY, including The Santa Clock (2010), That's Why They're Called Punkins (2011), The Ballerina's First Dance (2012), Snow Day Surprises (2013), Touchdown For Nicky (2015), Socks Half On (2017), The Santa Clock Grayscale Coloring Book for children and adults (2018), and The Biggest Splash (2019). He is currently working on several children's books, and screenplays.

Christie Colangione-B was born in Troy, N. Y. She is a graduate of the Junior College of Albany and the College of St. Rose, with an AAS and BS in Graphic Design. Christie is a graphic designer and focuses her artistic creativity on illustrations for the couple's children's books as well as the covers, designs, and illustrations for Jimmy's novels and screenplays. In 2019 Christie developed an ornament series for their children's books, and is currently creating greeting cards and specialty prints of her illustrations and paintings. She is the art director, designer, illustrator, and is in charge of production in the family's Badavino Creative Studio. She resides in Brunswick, N.Y. with her husband Jimmy and their three Children.

On October 26, 2015, the author and illustrator team spoke to several classes about the publishing process and about their newest book, Touchdown for Nicky. They showed classes thumbnail sketches of illustrations, completed paintings, photos of their studio and more. Mrs. Motzer’s ELA class had just completed Andrew Clements’ book The School Story, which is about a girl who writes a novel. The students had a lot of questions about the inner workings of the publishing business.The author and illustrator were able to share their expertise and experience.

Jimmy and Christie have enjoyed sharing their children's book writing and design processes with area school students and faculty. Contact them if you are interested in learning about there presentation, that will help inspire your students writing and creative interests.

Your students will learn about the writing, Illustrating, and design process from idea to finished product. Presentations are normally forty to sixty minutes, and can be tailored to suit your student's age group, class size, and curriculum.

Presentations are also available for adults on evenings and Saturdays, tailored to meet the needs of your group.

Farmer Pun told both of the scarecrows how proud he was of them, and said they had done a great job protecting his farm from the flock of crows.

He wasn't sure what to make of the discovery. It actually wasn't much different than many of the stories he grew up loving, but the feel of the book seemed more powerful than that.

That fall, Anthony went to as many of Nicky's games as he could, and he would often remind his parents of how much he wanted to play the following year.
